Environmentally Friendly Wedding Rings
March 27th, 2011 Posted 11:34 am
Will you forgo a wedding ring?
By now we should all be well aware that wedding rings – (diamonds and gold) are NOT environmentally friendly and worse still they are socially corrupt (see “BLOOD DIAMOND” the movie if you are still in doubt about how evil the processes of obtaining diamonds are on people)
so… to all those planning a wedding – are you willing to forgo this show of wealth to make the planet better???
- just so you know.. I am happily married and have NO ring..
plus I have better things to spend my money on..
ANYTHING mined from the ground is going to be bad for the environment – its a no- brainer..
only USED rings are environmentally friendly
a RING is NOT a show of LOVE…if it is.. then you are missing something in your life that is a REAL show of love…
No, I concur with rtfm – There are plenty of diamonds which are not conflict diamonds – such as Canadian ‘polarbear’ diamonds, check for certification.
Otherwise, it’s the symbolism and tradition which were important for us.
As for being eco-friendly, do you realize how much electricity you are using being on this site, and on the computer all the time? Do you pay for your carbon credits?
We each have our own causes and personal beliefs….
